Changing Places: Fieldwork Study
This Changing Places Fieldwork Study booklet for Year 9 students will provide them with the opportunity to study an urban renewal site and analyse its impacts on the local community and environment. This assessment has two parts for students to complete – the booklet and a Research Action Plan (RAP).
I have included an editable title page so that you can add an image of the site relevant to your study.
Fieldwork activities should be integrated into teaching and learning, be planned to meet syllabus outcomes, answer the inquiry questions and be appropriate for the age of the students. In addition to formal fieldwork, incidental opportunities enable students to make impromptu observations, e.g. when moving through the school.
This resource complements the Changing Places Unit of Work Bundle. This unit of work for Year 9 is complete with a 10-week teaching program, assessment schedule, and marking rubrics. The bundle also includes engaging learning activities and a PowerPoint presentation.

HOW CAN YOU USE THE FIELDWORK STUDY?
This booklet has been designed to guide students through a fieldwork study while allowing them to complete the task independently. Hand out the booklet while in class and go through it with students before going on the field trip. Students can then take notes whilst out in the field then complete the book once back at school. They must also complete a report.
